Adding Line Items
Line items are the products or services you’re charging for. Each has a description, quantity, and unit price.
Adding Items
Click Add Item or press Cmd/Ctrl + I. Enter a clear description of what you’re charging for, the quantity (or hours), and the unit price. The total calculates automatically.
Press Tab to move between fields. Press Enter to save and add another item.
Discounts
Enter a discount percentage to reduce the line total. A 10% discount on a $100 item makes it $90. The discount shows on the invoice.
Editing and Deleting
Click any field to edit it directly. Hover over an item to see the delete button. Use Cmd/Ctrl + Z immediately if you accidentally delete something.
Reordering
Drag items using the handle (⋮⋮) on the left.
Quick Items
If you bill for the same things regularly, save them as Quick Items. Click Save as Quick Item on any line item. Next time, select it from the Quick Items dropdown and it’s added instantly with your saved description and price.
Extended Descriptions
For detailed scope or terms, click the expand arrow on a line item. This opens a rich text editor where you can add formatted descriptions that appear on the PDF.
