Saving Documents

LiteWork saves your invoices and quotes securely in the cloud. You can save manually or let autosave handle it.

Manual Save

Press Cmd/Ctrl + S or click the Save button. Watch for the green checkmark—that means it’s saved successfully.

Autosave

LiteWork can save automatically every few minutes. Configure this in LiteWork Settings → Preferences. The default is every 2 minutes.

Autosave only runs when you’ve made changes and aren’t actively typing. It won’t interrupt your work.

Save Status

The header shows your save status:

Saved (green) — All changes saved. Safe to close.

Saving… — Save in progress.

Unsaved changes (orange) — You have changes that haven’t been saved yet.

Save failed (red) — Something went wrong. Try saving again.

If Save Fails

Check that you have an internet connection. Verify all required fields are filled in. If the problem persists, copy your line item content somewhere safe and try creating a fresh document.
