Payment Methods and Billing
LiteWork uses Stripe for secure payment processing. You can pay with credit or debit cards, and manage your payment details through the billing portal.
Accepted Payment Methods
LiteWork accepts major credit and debit cards:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. LiteWork never sees or stores your full card number.
Adding a Payment Method
When you upgrade from a trial or subscribe for the first time:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Click Choose Plan or Upgrade
- Select your plan and billing cycle
- Enter your card details on the Stripe checkout page
- Complete your subscription
Your card is saved for future payments. You won’t need to enter it again unless you want to change cards.
Updating Your Payment Method
To change the card on file:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Billing
- This opens the Stripe billing portal
- Click Update payment method
- Enter your new card details
- Save changes
The new card will be used for all future payments. Any pending charges will also use the new card.
When You’re Charged
Monthly Billing
You’re charged on the same day each month—the day you first subscribed. For example, if you subscribe on January 15th, you’ll be charged on the 15th of each month.
Annual Billing
You’re charged once per year on your subscription anniversary. Annual plans are 17% cheaper than paying monthly.
Upgrading
When you upgrade mid-cycle, you’re charged the prorated difference immediately. Your billing date stays the same.
Failed Payments
If a payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.):
- You’ll receive an email notification
- Stripe will retry the payment automatically over the next few days
- Your subscription status changes to “Past Due”
- Update your payment method to resolve immediately
While past due, you may have limited access to LiteWork. Update your payment method as soon as possible to restore full access.
Tip: Set a calendar reminder before your card expires to update your payment method and avoid failed payments.
Currency and Taxes
Currency
All LiteWork prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). If you’re paying with a card in a different currency, your bank will convert at their exchange rate.
GST
New Zealand customers are charged 15% GST on top of listed prices. GST is shown separately on your invoice.
Australian and other international customers are not charged NZ GST.
Viewing Receipts
Every payment generates an invoice/receipt:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Scroll to Billing History
- Click any invoice to view or download the PDF
Receipts include:
- Your business name and address
- LiteWork’s business details
- Amount paid and GST breakdown
- Invoice number for your records
Billing Portal
The Stripe billing portal lets you:
- Update your payment method
- View and download invoices
- Change your billing interval (monthly/annual)
- Update your billing address
- Cancel your subscription
Access it anytime from LiteWork Settings → Billing → Manage Billing.
Security
Your payment information is handled securely:
- Stripe processing — LiteWork never sees your full card number
- PCI compliant — Stripe is certified PCI Level 1
- Encrypted — All payment data is encrypted
- Fraud protection — Stripe’s fraud detection protects your card
