Import/Export Issues
Solutions for common import and export problems.
CSV Import Fails
Wrong format: Save your spreadsheet as CSV UTF-8 from Excel or Google Sheets. Other formats may not parse correctly.
Missing headers: The first row must contain column headers matching what LiteWork expects (e.g., “Name”, “Email”, “Company”).
Special characters: Remove or escape quotes and commas in your data, or ensure your CSV is properly quoted.
Xero Export Fails
Contact not found: The invoice’s contact doesn’t exist in Xero. Export the contact first, then retry the invoice.
Duplicate number: An invoice with that number already exists in Xero. Change the number and retry.
Invalid account code: The account code in LiteWork doesn’t exist in your Xero chart of accounts. Check LiteWork Settings → Xero Integration and update the default account code.
Xero Import Fails
No data found: Expand your date range filter or check that you’re connected to the Xero organization that has the data you’re looking for.
Connection expired: Reconnect to Xero from LiteWork Settings and try again.
