Importing from Xero

Import existing Xero contacts, invoices, and quotes into LiteWork to maintain a complete history or use them as templates.

Import Contacts

Go to Contacts → Import from Xero. This pulls your Xero customer list into LiteWork and establishes the links between systems. Do this before importing invoices so the contact relationships are preserved.

Import Invoices

Go to Invoices and click Import from Xero. Choose a date range and status filter (all, draft, approved, paid). Select “Skip existing” to avoid duplicates if you’ve imported before.

Imported invoices include their Xero ID, so you can update them later and sync changes back.

Import Quotes

Go to Quotes and click Import from Xero. Use the status filter to import only accepted quotes if you’re looking to convert them to invoices in LiteWork.

When to Import

Initial setup: Import all contacts and recent invoices when first connecting LiteWork to Xero.

Regular sync: If you create some documents directly in Xero, import them periodically to keep LiteWork complete.

Payment updates: Import invoices with “Update existing” to pull in payment status changes from Xero.

What Imports

All standard fields transfer: contact details, line items, amounts, tax rates, dates, and references. Xero-specific features like tracking categories, attachments, and payment transactions don’t import.
