Paying an Invoice
This article is for people who have received an invoice from a LiteWork user. If you’re the one sending invoices, see Creating Payment Links instead.
When someone sends you an invoice through LiteWork, you may receive an email with a link to view and pay it. Here’s what to expect.
Receiving an Invoice
You’ll get an email from the person or company who invoiced you. The email includes:
- The invoice details (number, amount, due date)
- A PDF attachment of the invoice
- A payment link (if the sender has enabled online payments)
Paying Online
If the invoice includes a payment link:
- Click the payment link in the email or on the invoice PDF
- You’ll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page
- Review the amount and invoice details
- Enter your card details
- Click Pay
Stripe handles the payment securely — your card details are never shared with the invoice sender or stored by LiteWork.
💡 Tip: After payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email. The invoice sender will also be notified that you’ve paid.
Paying via Xero
Some invoices include a Xero Online Invoice link instead of (or in addition to) a Stripe payment link. This takes you to Xero’s online invoice portal where you can view the invoice and pay through Xero’s payment options.
Other Payment Methods
If no online payment link is included, the invoice may list other payment methods such as:
- Bank transfer details (account number, reference)
- Check/cheque payment instructions
- Contact details to arrange payment
Check the invoice PDF or the email for instructions from the sender.
Questions About Your Invoice?
If you have questions about the amount, items, or payment terms on an invoice you’ve received, contact the person or company who sent it directly. Their contact details are usually on the invoice itself.
Security
LiteWork payment links use Stripe, a globally trusted payment processor. Your payment is encrypted and processed securely. The invoice sender never sees your full card details.
