Managing Your Subscription
View your subscription status, change plans, update payment methods, and manage your billing—all from LiteWork Settings.
Viewing Your Subscription
Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing to see:
- Current plan — Solo, Team, or Business
- Billing cycle — Monthly or annual
- Next billing date — When your next payment is due
- Usage — Documents, users, and companies used vs. limits
If you’re in a trial, you’ll see how many days remain and a button to upgrade.
Changing Your Plan
To upgrade or downgrade:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select your new plan
- Confirm the change
Upgrading
Upgrades take effect immediately. You’ll be charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your current billing period. Your new limits apply right away.
For example, if you upgrade from Solo to Team halfway through the month, you pay half the price difference now, then the full Team price on your next billing date.
Downgrading
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan’s features until then.
Before downgrading: Make sure you’re within the limits of your new plan. If you have 5 team members and downgrade to Solo (1 member), you’ll need to remove team members first. The same applies to companies and documents.
Switching Billing Cycle
You can switch between monthly and annual billing:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Billing
- Choose your preferred billing interval
Annual billing saves 17% compared to monthly. The change takes effect on your next billing date.
Updating Payment Method
To add or change your payment card:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Billing
- This opens the Stripe billing portal
- Update your payment method

Viewing Invoices
Your billing history is available in the Billing settings:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Scroll to Billing History
- Click any invoice to view or download the PDF
Invoices include your business details for expense tracking and GST claims.
Canceling Your Subscription
To cancel:
- Go to LiteWork Settings → Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
When you cancel:
- You keep access until the end of your current billing period
- After that, your account enters read-only mode
- Your data is retained for 90 days
- You can reactivate anytime by subscribing again

Reactivating After Cancellation
Changed your mind? If your subscription is canceled but you still have access (before the billing period ends), go to LiteWork Settings → Billing and click Reactivate.
If your account is already in read-only mode, choose a plan to reactivate immediately with full access restored.
Subscription States
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Trialing | In free trial, full access |
| Active | Paid and current, full access |
| Past Due | Payment failed, limited access until resolved |
| Canceled | Will end at period close, still has access |
| Expired | Subscription ended, read-only access |
